Authorities reported that officers were called to the consulate building near the intersection of University Avenue and Queen Street shortly before 5:30 a.m. after receiving reports that a firearm had been discharged. Investigators later confirmed evidence of gunfire at the site, though no injuries have been reported. As police began examining the scene, southbound lanes of University Avenue from Armoury Street were temporarily closed to traffic while officers conducted their investigation.
