Three Las Vegas hotels are rolling out a Canada-friendly promotion this year by accepting the Canadian dollar at par, aiming to lure back travellers who have been staying away from the U.S. amid exchange rate pressures and political tensions. Circa Resort and Casino, the D Las Vegas and Golden Gate Hotel and Casino announced they will treat $1 CAD as equal to $1 USD across select gaming, hotel and beverage offerings through Aug. 31.
Under the “At Par” program, Canadian guests receive full U.S. dollar value for their spending regardless of daily exchange rates. The promotion comes as travel to the United States has declined sharply, with Canadian return trips by car down more than 30 per cent and air travel down over 15 per cent year over year.
Derek Stevens, owner and CEO of the three downtown Las Vegas properties, said the initiative is meant to remove financial barriers and reaffirm long-standing ties with Canadian visitors. Eligible Canadians can redeem up to $500 CAD in slot promotional play, receive hotel rates charged directly in Canadian dollars at check-in, and enjoy at-par pricing at select bars — including BarCanada, a hockey-themed venue celebrating Canadian culture.
Hotel officials hope the program will make Las Vegas a more attractive and hassle-free destination for Canadians in 2026 by eliminating the need to worry about exchange rates or hidden costs, while reinforcing the city’s appeal as a welcoming getaway north of the border.
