CANADA — Statistics Canada has officially opened recruitment for approximately 32,000 temporary positions nationwide to support the 2026 Population and Agriculture Census, which takes place every five years.

Positions Available
Statistics Canada is recruiting for two main roles:
Enumerators
- Responsible for visiting households to collect completed census questionnaires
- Minimum commitment of 20 hours per week, with most work in evenings and weekends
- Employment period: May to July 2026 (varies by location)
- Pay rate: $25.87 per hour
- Eligible for reimbursement of authorized expenses such as mileage and parking
Crew Leaders
- Supervise, train, and support teams of enumerators
- Full-time commitment of 40 hours per week, including days, evenings, and weekends
- Employment period: March to July 2026 (varies by location)
- Pay rate: $31.32 per hour
- Eligible for authorized expense claims
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years old (age of majority in Ontario)
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid work permit
- Reside in Canada with a Canadian home address
