Third Arrest Made in Hamilton Shooting That Killed 21-Year-Old International Student

Hamilton police say they have made a third arrest in the tragic shooting that killed 21-year-old international student Harsimrat Randhawa earlier this year. Randhawa, a student at Mohawk College, was standing near a bus stop at Upper James Street and South Bend Road on April 17 when she was struck and killed by gunfire during an exchange between several vehicles.

Investigators believe at least seven individuals, four cars and multiple firearms were involved in the violent confrontation. Police had already arrested two men last month in connection with the case: a 32-year-old charged with first-degree murder, and both he and a 26-year-old man facing three counts of attempted murder.

On Monday, officers arrested the third suspect in Toronto without incident. He appeared in court later that day and is now charged with first-degree murder, marking another step in the complex investigation.

Police continue to appeal for information from the public as they piece together the events that led to Randhawa’s death, which has deeply shaken Hamilton’s student and international communities.
