After a closely watched judicial recount, Kristina Tesser Derksen has officially been confirmed as the Member of Parliament for Milton East–Halton Hills South, securing victory by a narrow margin of 21 votes over Conservative candidate Parm Gill. The recount, which slightly revised the original 29-vote lead, reaffirms the trust and confidence voters have placed in Tesser Derksen and the Liberal Party.
This win ensures the Liberal Party maintains its seat count at 170 in the House of Commons and solidifies the party’s continued commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive Canada.
“It is a profound honour to be elected as your Member of Parliament,” said Tesser Derksen. “This community means everything to me, and I am ready to get to work for every single resident of Milton East–Halton Hills South.”
She extended heartfelt gratitude to her team and supporters:
