Canada’s Top Small and Medium Employers of 2025 Revealed: Brampton, Mississauga, Toronto, and Ajax Companies Among Ontario Leaders

The 2025 edition of Canada’s Top Small and Medium Employers has been officially released by Mediacorp Canada Inc., highlighting companies across the country that offer outstanding workplaces, innovative HR policies, and meaningful employee development opportunities. Several standout organizations from Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, and Ajax are featured on this year’s prestigious list.

The annual editorial competition, now in its 12th year, recognizes small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that are setting the standard for employee experience in Canada. Editors assess companies across eight key criteria: workplace environment, benefits, vacation/time off, performance management, training, employee communications, community involvement, and workplace atmosphere.

“Today’s employees are looking for flexibility, purpose, and an opportunity to grow,” said Kristina Leung, Managing Editor of the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project. “This year’s SME winners are rising to the challenge with competitive benefits and a workplace culture that prioritizes personal and professional development.”

More Canadians are turning to SMEs for career growth, citing the faster-paced, high-responsibility environments and opportunity to make impactful contributions earlier in their careers. According to Richard Yerema, Executive Editor of the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project, many SMEs now rival large enterprises in offering benefits like mental health supports, extended vacation policies, mentorship, and even unique perks such as travel rewards.
