The Festival of Literary Diversity (FOLD) returns this spring to celebrate its 10th anniversary with a bold and reflective theme: “A Decade of Change.” Running virtually from April 27 to 30 and in person from May 1 to 4, this milestone edition brings together over 50 authors for an inspiring blend of conversations, performances, panels, and literary experiences rooted in equity, inclusion, and the power of storytelling.
Founded in Brampton in 2016 by author and advocate Jael Richardson, FOLD is Canada’s premier literary festival dedicated to celebrating diverse voices. With nearly 30 virtual events and 14 in-person programs, the festival continues to push boundaries and foster meaningful dialogue between writers and readers from across the country.
“FOLD was established to create a space for underrepresented Canadian authors to share their craft and speak to the issues that matter to them,” said Jael Richardson, FOLD’s Founder and Executive Director. “This year’s theme allows us to reflect on how far we’ve come, and to envision the future. It’s not just about great books—it’s about creating spaces of connection, creativity, and community.”
