Ontario Khalsa Darbar Committee Re-Elected Unanimously; No Election Required on March 30

In a significant development, all 11 members of the Ontario Khalsa Darbar (Dixie Gurdwara) management committee have been elected unanimously, eliminating the need for the previously scheduled election on March 30.

It is understood that senior members of the Sikh community played a key role in building consensus among various groups, encouraging them to support the existing committee rather than proceed with a contested election. As a result, nine sitting directors will continue for another three-year term, joined by two newly elected members.

The announcement was made by all three members of the Election Commission during a general body meeting held in the Gurdwara’s main hall, which saw the presence of a large number of members.

Ontario Khalsa Darbar, with approximately 7,000 permanent members, is one of the largest and most prominent Gurdwaras in North America. The 11-member committee oversees the daily operations of the institution.

Outgoing committee president and re-elected director, S. Harpal Singh Saini, expressed his gratitude to the Sangat and community for their continued trust and support. The new office bearers of the committee will be selected on March 30.
