Social Media Influencers Promote Peace and Friendship Before India-Pakistan Showdown in Dubai
As the highly anticipated India vs. Pakistan match in the Champions Trophy 2025 approaches, two Dubai-based social media influencers are using their platforms to promote a message of peace, friendship, and sportsmanship.
Pakistani content creator Farooq Shah, known as Chacha Pakistani on TikTok, and Indian influencer Sirin Mazumdar, aka sirinofficial786, are urging their millions of followers to enjoy the game without hostility.
With emotions running high before the two teams meet for their first one-day international of the year, the duo plans to share videos of themselves swapping jerseys, waving national flags, and celebrating cricket—all to encourage fans to keep their rivalry within the stadium.
The influencers, who live in Dubai, say they will sit together during Sunday’s match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, each passionately cheering for their respective teams but demonstrating how friendly rivalries can exist without negativity.
“Sirin will shout ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ (Long Live Mother India), and I will say ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ (Long Live Pakistan), but we will remain friends,” said Shah, who has over 2.4 million followers on TikTok.
His message is clear: “Cricket is a passion, but after the match, leave the rivalry in the stadium. Win or lose, we should still be friends.”
The influencers are launching a special campaign to show that cricket fans from both countries can celebrate the game without hostility.
Mazumdar, who boasts 3.3 million YouTube subscribers and over 400,000 Instagram and TikTok followers, echoed this sentiment:
“Chacha is from Pakistan, and I’m from India, so what? We are all human.”
She emphasized how millions of Indians and Pakistanis work, live, and even share homes together in the UAE, proving that sports should not create divisions.
“At all matches, I will 100% shout for India. But after the game, we have a deal—whoever loses will give sweets to the other,” she added with a laugh.
Cricket matches between India and Pakistan are always high-voltage affairs, fueled by decades of intense sporting history. However, there has never been violence inside stadiums, and both influencers believe that will continue.
“Tickets were hard to get, but I made sure I got two—one for me and one for Sirin,” Shah revealed. “We wanted to watch the game together and show that cricket should unite, not divide.”
The 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, hosted by Pakistan and the UAE, marks the first global ICC event held in Pakistan since the 1996 World Cup. However, due to political tensions, the Indian government refused to send its team to Pakistan, meaning all of India’s matches will be played in Dubai.
Over 19 days, eight teams will compete in 15 one-day international matches, with Sunday’s India-Pakistan showdown set to be the most anticipated clash.
For Farooq Shah and Sirin Mazumdar, the message is simple:
“Cheer for your team, celebrate the game, but respect each other. Cricket is a sport, not a battlefield.”
