Oxford County OPP Seeking Information on Repeated Incidents
Police are investigating a series of alleged thefts involving Pride flags in southern Ontario, with two reported incidents occurring at the same residence in Blandford-Blenheim Township, near London.
The Oxford County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) issued a statement today detailing the nature of the incidents.
Authorities say that on February 20, 2025, an unknown individual allegedly entered the backyard of a residence and stole a Pride flag from a flagpole. This was not the first time the property was targeted.
Last month, on January 24, the same suspect is believed to have returned around the same time of day and stolen the initial Pride flag from the same location. The first incident was not reported to law enforcement at the time.
The Oxford OPP is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect and gathering further evidence.
Anyone with information, security footage, or potential leads is urged to contact the Oxford OPP or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers.
Authorities emphasize that these incidents are under active investigation, and they are working to determine whether they are isolated thefts or part of a larger pattern.
