Flower City Friends Club to Celebrate Punjabi Heritage, Women’s Empowerment, and Community Spirit in Brampton
Brampton, Ontario – The Ladies Wing of Flower City Friends Club (FCFC) is proud to announce Sakhiyan Da Milan – Tiyan Festival 2026, an exciting celebration of Punjabi culture, friendship, tradition, and womanhood. Scheduled for Sunday, July 19, 2026, this special ladies-only gathering will bring together women from Brampton and across the Greater Toronto Area for an afternoon of cultural festivities, entertainment, and community engagement.
Tiyan is one of Punjab’s most cherished traditional festivals, symbolizing joy, sisterhood, friendship, and cultural pride. Historically celebrated during the monsoon season, Tiyan provided women with an opportunity to come together, sing traditional folk songs, perform Giddha, wear colorful attire, and strengthen social bonds. Through this event, Flower City Friends Club aims to preserve and promote this rich cultural heritage while creating meaningful opportunities for women to connect and celebrate their shared traditions.
The event is expected to attract a large gathering of women representing diverse backgrounds and generations. Participants will enjoy an atmosphere filled with vibrant colors, traditional Punjabi music, cultural performances, dancing, games, and delicious cuisine. Attendees are encouraged to wear traditional Punjabi suits, jewelry, and ethnic attire, adding to the authentic spirit and beauty of the celebration.
