FBI Announces US$50,000 Reward for Alleged Gang Leader Goldy Brar

The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has announced a reward of up to US$50,000 for information leading to the arrest of Satinderjeet Singh, an alleged senior member of the Lawrence Bishnoi Organized Crime Group who is wanted in connection with organized crime activities across the United States and Canada.

In a statement, the FBI said Brar is believed to be based in the United States and is alleged to lead the criminal organization’s North American operations. Authorities claim the group has been involved in a range of violent crimes, including extortion, drug trafficking and other criminal activities in Southern California and elsewhere in North America.

According to the FBI, a federal arrest warrant for Brar was issued on July 1, 2026, by the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. He has been charged with conspiracy under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, conspiracy to interfere with commerce through extortion, and conspiracy to distribute and possess controlled substances with intent to distribute.

Investigators believe Brar has connections to Sacramento and Fresno in California, as well as to Canada, India and Mexico.

The reward announcement follows sweeping federal indictments unveiled by the U.S. Department of Justice under Operation Hard Ball, a multinational law enforcement initiative targeting India-based organized crime networks allegedly involved in murder, extortion, international narcotics trafficking and other serious offences.

Federal prosecutors have charged Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi with allegedly orchestrating the June 18, 2023 assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar outside a Sikh gurdwara in Surrey, British Columbia. Prosecutors allege the two accused directed the killing, which was carried out by two gunmen.

The indictments also include charges against several other alleged organized crime figures, including Jaggu Bhagwanpuria and Ravinder Singh Dhanda. Prosecutors allege that Dhanda operated an international drug trafficking network, while the Bhagwanpuria organization functioned as a transnational criminal syndicate with members across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

U.S. authorities said the investigation resulted in the seizure of cocaine and firearms during coordinated enforcement actions carried out under Operation Hard Ball.

The U.S. Department of Justice emphasized that the indictments contain allegations only and that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

The criminal proceedings come against the backdrop of diplomatic tensions that followed Nijjar’s killing in 2023. At the time, then Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated that Canada had credible intelligence linking Indian government agents to the assassination, an allegation India strongly denied. Since then, relations between Canada and India have shown signs of improvement under Prime Minister Mark Carney, although the criminal investigations and court proceedings continue independently.
