A 30-year-old man from Brampton has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for his role in a major gun smuggling and fentanyl trafficking operation uncovered by York Regional Police.
Raoul Harvey was convicted after selling firearms and drugs to undercover officers during Project Monarch, an investigation into an international gun pipeline moving weapons from the United States into Canada.
Court heard Harvey sold five Glock pistols for $28,500 and later defrauded officers of $17,000 in a failed gun deal. He also trafficked fentanyl in multiple transactions worth $23,000.
Police say the broader investigation led to 22 individuals facing hundreds of charges, with seizures including 27 firearms, over $1.3 million in drugs, and large amounts of cash.
Harvey, who has lived in Canada for 15 years but is not a citizen, is expected to be deported after serving his sentence.
