Brampton Invites Residents to Explore Downtown Transformation During Jane’s Walk Festival

Brampton residents are being invited to step outside and experience the city’s changing downtown during the 2026 Jane’s Walk Festival.

The guided walk, led by the City’s Downtown Revitalization team in partnership with the Downtown Brampton BIA, will give participants a first-hand look at the projects reshaping the heart of the city into a more vibrant destination for residents, businesses and visitors.

The one-hour walking tour takes place on Wednesday, May 6, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. It begins at Ken Whillans Square and travels through the downtown core before ending at Garden Square. Along the route, city staff will provide updates on key initiatives, answer questions and hear feedback from the community.

Following the walk, residents are encouraged to continue the discussion at an open house running from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Conservatory at Brampton City Hall. Representatives from multiple departments, including environmental planning, parks planning, transit planning, development services, economic development and cultural services, will be available to speak with attendees. The Downtown Brampton BIA will also share plans to support local businesses.

The city says downtown Brampton is undergoing one of its most significant transformations in years. Major projects include Riverwalk, streetscape upgrades on Main and Queen streets, improvements to Ken Whillans Square and Garden Square, and redevelopment plans for city-owned properties on Main Street North.

Officials say these investments are designed to create safer public spaces, stronger connections, greater economic opportunity and a more inclusive downtown that reflects Brampton’s growing and diverse population.

Residents of all ages are welcome to attend, and comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
