Brampton Announces Summer Recreation Registration, Facility Changes and Seasonal Openings

Brampton is getting ready for the summer recreation season with new program registration dates, facility updates and the reopening of seasonal amenities aimed at helping residents stay active and connected.

Beginning May 1, standardized operating hours will be introduced across city recreation centres. Officials say the change is intended to make schedules easier to understand, improve consistency and support efficient service delivery. Residents will still be able to use any recreation centre across Brampton, giving members flexibility to choose the location that works best for them.

As part of seasonal adjustments, Greenbriar Recreation Centre will close for the summer months. Residents are being encouraged to use nearby facilities for programs, camps and drop-in activities until regular operations resume in September.

Outdoor recreation is also returning, with Peel Village Golf Course now open for the 2026 season. The nine-hole course, located along Etobicoke Creek, features tree-lined fairways, water hazards, sand traps and elevated greens, offering an accessible option for golfers of all skill levels.

Summer program registration will roll out in phases. Program listings become available on May 18. Registration for general programs, the Brampton Sports League and full-year programs opens June 1 at 7 a.m. Registration for Learn to Swim and Learn to Skate begins June 22. The summer session runs from June 29 to September 6, while full-year programs continue from September 14, 2026, to June 27, 2027.

The city says residents can choose from a wide variety of activities including sports, arts, aquatics and inclusive programs focused on participation, skill development and community connection.

To avoid delays, residents are encouraged to log into their recreation accounts early, confirm family details, verify residency status, update payment information and save course selections in advance. The city also recommends using Google Chrome for desktop registration or downloading the new mobile registration app for easier access on phones and tablets.

Summer camps are also returning with expanded programming. This year’s lineup includes arts, sports, science, theatre and specialty experiences. One featured event is the Brampton Honey Badgers Summer Camp Takeover from July 13 to 17, which will include a live game experience, themed activities and mascot appearances.

Inclusive options such as Camp No Limits and On The Move Trippers will also be offered, providing supported recreation opportunities for youth and adults of all abilities.

Registration for camps remains open until the Sunday before each camp week, subject to availability.
