Punjab’s Forest Hill Resort Begins New Era of Luxury Wilderness Living

Punjab’s hospitality landscape is set for a major transformation with the reimagining of Forest Hill Resort, a sprawling nature-based destination in the scenic Shivalik foothills near Chandigarh. Surrounded by forested landscapes and located beside the Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary, the resort is being positioned as a premium getaway where luxury, wellness, adventure and sustainability meet in one destination.

The newly upgraded property reflects a shift in modern travel preferences, where guests increasingly seek privacy, open spaces, authentic experiences and wellness-focused escapes rather than conventional hotel stays. With its vast natural setting and eco-conscious vision, Forest Hill Resort aims to become one of North India’s leading luxury wilderness retreats.

A key highlight of the redevelopment is the launch of a contemporary glass clubhouse designed to blend with the surrounding landscape. The new space includes elegant lounges, private dining areas and a stylish outdoor venue known as Le Jardin, offering visitors a refined social and event experience in the heart of nature.

Food is also central to the resort’s new identity. Through its signature dining concept, The Vańa, guests can enjoy a curated menu combining Indian heritage flavours with global culinary trends. Signature offerings include Truffle Dal Makhani, Old Delhi-style seekh kebabs, artisanal desserts and farm-fresh ingredients sourced directly from the resort’s own lands.

Beyond luxury accommodation, the resort offers an extensive lifestyle experience with more than 50 activities for guests of all ages. These include golf, horseback riding, hiking trails, cycling, boating, birdwatching, wildlife safaris, zip-lining, yoga retreats and rejuvenating spa experiences. The goal is to create a destination where visitors can choose adventure, relaxation or a balance of both.

Environmental stewardship remains a major pillar of the project. Resort planners say less than 20 percent of the total land area has been used for construction, helping preserve the natural ecosystem and surrounding greenery. Eco-sensitive architecture and locally sourced materials have also been integrated into the design.

Devinder Sandhu, associated with the vision behind the project, said the new Forest Hill Resort is about creating a destination that respects nature while delivering world-class hospitality. “Today’s travellers want meaningful experiences, peace, wellness and connection with nature. Our aim is to offer all of that while showcasing Punjab as a premium tourism destination,” he said.

Looking to the future, Forest Hill Resort is exploring partnerships with global hospitality brands to introduce premium villas, boutique cottages and branded residences. Long-term plans reportedly include helipad access and exclusive golf estate living, further enhancing its appeal for luxury travellers and investors.

Spread across nearly 2,000 acres and surrounded by protected forestland, Forest Hill Resort represents a bold new vision for tourism in Punjab — one where nature is not replaced by development, but elevated through thoughtful luxury.
