We are excited to extend a warm invitation to you and your loved ones to join us in celebrating the joyous occasion of Vaisakhi at the Annual Khalsa Day Parade, hosted by the Ontario Sikhs and Gurdwaras Council (OSGC). This significant event marks the Sikh New Year and the establishment of the Khalsa in 1699 by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. It’s a day that commemorates the birth of the Sikh order and emphasizes the importance of selfless service.
Event Details:
The Khalsa Day Parade is not only the largest Sikh celebration in Canada but also the third largest parade in the nation, attracting thousands of participants and spectators each year. Since its inception in Toronto in 1986 with just 2,000 attendees, the event has grown tremendously, becoming a vibrant and integral part of Toronto’s cultural landscape.
This parade is a fantastic opportunity for people of all backgrounds and religions to come together and experience the rich traditions of the Sikh community. Enjoy the colorful displays, the spirited music, and the delicious snacks available at both the Exhibition grounds and City Hall.
Let’s come together to enjoy this festive day, deepen our understanding of Sikh traditions, and partake in the community spirit. Whether you’re familiar with Vaisakhi or eager to experience it for the first time, this parade offers something for everyone.
We look forward to celebrating with you and making this year’s Khalsa Day Parade a memorable one!
