The City of Brampton has partnered with Peel Children’s Aid Society to establish a Youth Wellness Hub as part of the Century Gardens Youth Hub project. This initiative aligns with Ontario’s network of 27 Youth Wellness Hubs, offering mental health, substance use, and wellness services in a welcoming, youth-friendly environment.
“As Chair of Community Services, I am so proud that our years of advocacy, work, and investment in the Century Gardens Youth Hub have resulted in increased mental health support for our youth in Brampton,” said Regional Councillor Rowena Santos, Chair of Community Services. “When a young person walks into our Century Gardens Youth Hub for recreation programs or to just hang out, they will also have access to critical mental health support should they need it. This collaborative approach is an example of what we can achieve together for our youth.”

The Youth Wellness Hub will provide a comprehensive system of support, integrating mental health, substance use, and primary care services with recreational and educational programs. This multi-use facility aims to serve as an inclusive and accessible space for Brampton’s youth and families.
Key Features of the Century Gardens Youth Hub
- A new 12,500 square-foot building designed with youth in mind.
- Amenities including games and e-sports areas, creative spaces, meeting rooms, and service delivery areas.
- Outdoor features such as an amphitheatre, community gardens, a basketball court, and the Atiba Hutchinson Soccer Court.
Construction is underway, with the Century Gardens Youth Hub slated to open in 2026.
The Century Gardens Youth Hub is part of Brampton’s Parks and Recreation Master Plan (PRMP), a strategy for delivering recreation facilities and services through 2036. This effort aligns with the City’s goal of encouraging active and healthy lifestyles, which includes a five per cent increase in recreation programming in 2025 to accommodate 8,000 additional participants.
Over the past two years, Brampton has allocated $1.4 billion toward transformative projects such as the Embleton Community Centre and Balmoral Recreation Centre, with further investments planned.
Patrick Brown, Mayor of Brampton: “Home to more than 153,000 youth aged 14 to 29, Brampton is committed to building a brighter future for our young people through compassion and innovation. This partnership embodies a comprehensive approach to addressing the needs of youth in our community, ensuring they have the resources to succeed.”
Dr. Jo Henderson, Executive Director, Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario (YWHO): “Young people in Ontario deserve the best care and support. This collaboration provides Brampton’s youth with a welcoming space to access integrated mental health, primary care, housing, and other essential services. Together, we are working toward positive outcomes for all youth in Ontario.”
Mary Beth Moellenkamp, CEO, Peel Children’s Aid Society: “Peel Children’s Aid Society is proud to be the first child welfare agency in Ontario to lead the development of a Youth Wellness Hub. This project reflects our commitment to inclusion, empowerment, and well-being, especially for those facing systemic barriers.”
