“Til The Nights Done” features additional vocals from Xav’s younger sister, Ella-Grace Trudeau. The track was produced by Vishal “Duava” Daluwatte and recorded, mixed, and mastered in Ottawa by Joey “Tekika” Boyer. Both Daluwatte and Boyer are co-founders of Pathway Music Group, the management company representing Xav.
The song’s lyrics include lines such as, “What you know about me, I ain’t like him,” and “We could roll sum, we could light one.” Despite the apparent reference to marijuana, Xavier is under the legal age to purchase cannabis in Canada, which is 21 in Quebec and 19 in Ontario.
A music video for “Til The Nights Done” is scheduled for release on Xav’s YouTube channel at 4:15 p.m. ET on February 21. The song has been described by its producers as a “dark, mysterious RnB song” that reflects Xav’s desired vibe for his first release. They noted that the track explores themes of deep understanding and emotional connection between individuals who cannot fully be together.
Xav draws inspiration from artists like Don Toliver, Drake, and Post Malone. His management team has indicated that more music is forthcoming and that live performances are being planned for the near future.
Proud mother Sophie Grégoire Trudeau expressed her support on social media, commenting, “Good work guys!” on an Instagram post teasing the release.
