Woman Dies After Mississauga Hit-and-Run; Police Continue Search for Driver

A young woman in her 20s has succumbed to her injuries weeks after being struck in a hit-and-run in Mississauga’s west end, Peel Regional Police confirmed Wednesday.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was hit by a black 2018 Honda CR-V on January 14, just before midnight, while crossing Bristol Road West at Loonlake Avenue. She had reportedly just stepped off a transit bus and was crossing at a green light, giving her the right-of-way, when she was struck by the eastbound SUV, which fled the scene without stopping.

Police recovered the suspect vehicle four days later on January 18 near White Clover Way and Apple Blossom Circle, a residential area near Mavis Road and Highway 403. However, the driver remains unidentified.

Upon inspecting the Honda CR-V, investigators found evidence of repairs and replaced parts, leading them to believe the suspect attempted to conceal evidence.

Peel Regional Police continue to canvass auto repair shops, dealerships, and scrap yards, seeking anyone who may have sold parts or completed repairs on the suspect vehicle.

Investigators urge anyone with information to contact police at 905-453-2121, ext. 3710, or provide anonymous tips through Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

As the search for the driver intensifies, police emphasize the seriousness of the crime and the need for public cooperation in bringing the suspect to justice.
