A tragic incident in Entwistle, Alberta, has left a two-week-old baby boy dead following a dog attack on Sunday morning. The Evansburg RCMP detachment confirmed the infant’s death in a media release on Monday, stating that the child succumbed to his injuries despite the best efforts of medical staff at Edmonton’s Stollery Children’s Hospital.
Emergency services, including RCMP and paramedics, responded to reports of the attack at a residence in Entwistle, located approximately 105 kilometres west of Edmonton on Highway 16. The infant was airlifted to the Stollery Children’s Hospital but tragically passed away shortly after arrival.
The dog involved in the attack lived in the same residence as the baby and has since been surrendered to authorities by its owner. The RCMP emphasized that the investigation into the incident is ongoing, with support from Parkland County’s enforcement team.
