Two Highrises with 813 Residential Units Proposed for County Court Boulevard in Brampton

The City of Brampton is currently reviewing an application for a large-scale development on County Court Boulevard at Hurontario Street, which includes two highrises. The proposed project involves a 42-storey and a 32-storey tower, set to feature 813 residential units, retail and office spaces, and a variety of amenities.

The development plan includes 1,635 square metres of retail space, 8,581 square metres of office space, and 3,637 square metres of amenity space. Additionally, the proposal includes green roofs, 914 vehicular parking spaces, and 519 bicycle parking spaces.

The project, led by 207 Kil Holdings Inc. and 209 Kil Holdings Inc., is seeking an amendment to the official plan and zoning bylaw to allow for the phased development. Weston Consulting is acting as the applicant’s consultant. A statutory public meeting regarding the proposal will take place during the city’s planning and development committee meeting on August 11.

A key consideration for the city is that the lands are currently designated for predominantly employment uses, yet the proposed development would provide limited employment space. The site, which is 5,261 square metres, is within the Ray Lawson Major Transit Station Area, an area designated for high-density development with a mix of uses.

The property, currently home to two commercial buildings and parking lots, is located near several key sites, including the Ontario Court of Justice, County Court Cricket Grounds, a plaza, low-rise homes, office buildings, and a Peel Regional Police station. Weston Consulting believes the project will improve the visual appeal of the area and create a strong presence along the Hurontario LRT corridor with modern architectural design. The development is also well-positioned to support transit infrastructure, with immediate access to the Hurontario LRT and local bus routes.
