The United States and the United Kingdom are set to unveil more than $10 billion in economic deals during President Donald Trump’s state visit this week, senior U.S. officials confirmed Monday.
The centerpiece of the visit will be the signing of a new trade agreement built on three key pillars:
- A science and technology partnership to deepen collaboration between U.S. and UK tech sectors,
- Civil nuclear power cooperation, and
- Expanded defense technology collaboration.
The announcement will be accompanied by participation from top U.S. technology business leaders, underscoring the visit’s focus on innovation and strategic partnership.
President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will arrive in the UK late Tuesday. On Wednesday, they will meet King Charles and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle, followed by a formal state dinner — Trump’s second such honor from the British monarchy, the first being in 2019.
On Thursday, Trump will hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Keir Starmer and the two leaders will host a joint press conference before Trump returns to Washington later that evening.
“This visit gives the president the opportunity to strengthen ties with a particularly close partner and ally, while advancing mutual economic and foreign policy interests,” a senior U.S. official said.
The deals are expected to highlight Washington and London’s shared priorities in economic growth, energy security, and global defense, reinforcing the “special relationship” between the two allies.
