Residents across Ontario are being urged to check their homes for certain children’s items and hairstyling products that have recently been recalled due to health and safety concerns.
One of the key recalls involves toy race cars branded as “Racing – The Feeling of Flying.” These cars come in sets of three, featuring colors like red, yellow, white, or a combination of red, white, and blue. The recalled items can be identified by the UPC code 058445278409 and item number 27840.
Health Canada’s assessment revealed that these toy cars exceed the permissible lead concentration under the Consumer Products Safety Act, posing a chemical hazard to children. Although no incidents or injuries have been reported in Canada as of July 25, 2024, consumers are advised to stop using these race cars immediately and dispose of them according to municipal waste guidelines.
In addition to the toy race cars, other children’s products such as cribs, baby food, and certain hairstyling products have also been recalled. These items may either pose health risks or potentially contain harmful bacteria.
What You Should Do:
- Stop Using Recalled Products: Immediately cease the use of any recalled items.
- Dispose Safely: Follow municipal guidelines for the safe disposal of these products.
- Stay Informed: Regularly check for updates on product recalls to ensure the safety of your household.
