Peel Regional Police, working with multiple law enforcement agencies under Project Outsource, have dismantled a major criminal network tied to the towing industry, seizing more than $4.2 million in assets, including 18 tow trucks, luxury cars, firearms, and stolen vehicles.
Launched in July 2024, Project Outsource targeted an organized group involved in violent extortion, insurance fraud, and gang activity. The investigation uncovered a two-pronged network—one enforcing control through threats, guns, and assaults, and the other staging fake collisions through towing firms such as Certified Roadside and Humble Roadside.
A total of 18 people have been arrested, including 17 men from Brampton and one woman from King City, facing 97 criminal charges ranging from fraud and firearms offenses to participation in a criminal organization.

- Inderjit Dhami, Paritosh Chopra, Gurbinder Singh, Kulwinder & Parminder Puri, Inderjit Bal, Varun Aul, Ketan Chopra, Norman Tazehkand, Pawandeep Singh, Dipanshu Garg, Rahul Verma, Karan, Mankirat, and Simar Boparai, Jovan Singh, and Abhinav Bhardwaj
Major Seizures:
- 18 tow trucks ($2.8M value)
- 4 personal vehicles ($840K value)
- 5 stolen vehicles ($571K value)
- 6 firearms, 586 rounds of ammunition, 2 bulletproof vests
- Additional weapons: crossbow, taser, baseball bats
Nearly half of those arrested were already on judicial release at the time of their new charges.
