Dejour Jones, 20, of Toronto, has been charged with four counts of trafficking a controlled substance and one count of possession of property obtained by crime. He remains in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for tomorrow.
“This investigation reflects our commitment to protecting our community and holding drug traffickers accountable,” said Inspector William Freeman of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. “The professionalism and teamwork of our enforcement units and our partnership with the OPP made this historic seizure possible.”
Police emphasized that the investigation remains active and that further arrests may follow.
“If anybody else is identified, they will be exposed and held accountable,” Freeman added.
The seizure marks a major victory for local law enforcement and highlights the ongoing collaboration between municipal and provincial police in combating drug trafficking across Ontario.
