NEW DELHI — England’s Tommy Fleetwood produced a dazzling final-round surge to capture the inaugural DP World India Championship, sealing a two-shot victory over Japan’s Keita Nakajima at the Delhi Golf Club on Sunday.
Just three weeks after starring in Europe’s triumphant Ryder Cup campaign, Fleetwood carried his momentum into India with a composed and clinical display. A flurry of five birdies in seven holes on the back nine powered him to a closing 65, finishing at 22 under par — two strokes ahead of Nakajima.
Fleetwood’s round featured eight birdies and a single bogey, as he stormed from two behind overnight to claim his eighth DP World Tour title and his first since the 2024 Dubai Invitational. The win was made even more special with his son Frankie watching from the gallery and joining him on the 18th green in an emotional celebration.
“I had that written down all week,” Fleetwood said afterward. “Frankie told me I’d never won a tournament where he could run onto the green — and I really wanted to make that happen. It was a special moment.”
Nakajima continued his strong run of form with another runner-up finish — his third straight top-two result in India — ending two behind after matching Fleetwood’s birdie at the 17th.
Shane Lowry, Alex Fitzpatrick, and Thriston Lawrence shared third at 18 under, while Viktor Hovland finished tied-sixth after a spectacular chip-in eagle on the 18th. Rory McIlroy, meanwhile, endured a quiet final day, carding a 71 to finish tied-26th at 11 under, 11 shots off the lead.
Fleetwood’s victory capped a thrilling finale to the event’s debut edition, adding another chapter to his standout 2025 season — one defined by poise, precision, and a touch of family magic.
