Third Suspect in $1M Windsor Arson May Be Hiding in Brampton or Mississauga, Say Police

Windsor police are appealing to the public for assistance in locating a third suspect connected to a devastating house fire in Amherstburg that caused over $1 million in damages. Investigators believe the suspect may be residing in either Brampton or Mississauga, based on information uncovered during the ongoing investigation.

The fire, which occurred in the early hours of January 18, 2025, targeted a newly constructed home in the 200 block of Cowan Court. The deliberately set blaze resulted in significant destruction to the home and a neighbouring property. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

According to police, this is the third arson attack at the same location in just 16 months, raising serious concerns about repeated targeting of the property.

Two suspects, both 19 years old, have already been taken into custody. However, Windsor police are now actively seeking a third individual believed to have played a role in the arson. The suspect is described as approximately five feet ten inches tall, with a medium build and a distinctive tattoo on his left hand. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black hoodie, black Roots pants, and a black Nike tuque.

Police have not yet released the names, hometowns, or specific charges laid against the two individuals currently in custody.

Authorities are urging anyone who may have information on the whereabouts or identity of the third suspect to contact the Windsor Police Arson Unit at 519-255-6700, extension 4330. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers.

The Windsor Police Service remains committed to holding all individuals involved in this ongoing arson case accountable and ensuring the safety and security of the affected neighbourhood.
