A café in Surrey, B.C. linked to Indian comedian and Bollywood star Kapil Sharma has been targeted in a shooting for the third time this year.
RCMP officers responded to reports of gunfire at Kap’s Café just before 4 a.m. and found that the restaurant had been struck by multiple bullets. Staff were inside at the time, but no one was injured. Police have not released further details.
The café was previously targeted twice during the summer. No suspects were identified in those cases. A widely shared video of the first shooting in July showed a person firing repeatedly at the building, sparking public outrage and political attention. Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke urged social media platforms to take action to curb the spread of violent content following the incident.
The repeated shootings have drawn significant attention to the café, which is owned by Sharma, a household name in India known for his comedy shows and television appearances.
