Taapsee Pannu Opens Up About Bollywood Dynamics: “Access is Key, and I Lack That”

Taapsee Pannu, known for her diverse roles in the film industry, has shed light on the challenges she faces in accessing the inner circles of Bollywood. While promoting her upcoming film, “Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba,” the actress discussed how her reluctance to attend late-night parties affects her opportunities to secure major roles.

In a recent interview with Zoom, Taapsee addressed the issue of Bollywood camps and nepotism, emphasizing that access plays a crucial role in landing significant film projects. She acknowledged that while she may be suitable for certain roles, her name might not be considered due to her lack of association with influential circles in the industry.

Taapsee remarked, “The harsh reality is that big films are about access, and I don’t have that access to make it into that room.”

She also highlighted the role of parties in gaining access to these camps, acknowledging that networking and socializing are integral parts of the process. However, she expressed her discomfort with the late-night party scene, stating that it is not conducive to her personality.

Despite these challenges, Taapsee remains committed to her craft and is determined to pursue her career on her own terms. Alongside “Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba,” she has an exciting lineup of projects, including “Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan?” and “Khel Khel Mein.”
