Starbucks Canada Trims Menu by 20%—Here’s What’s Leaving and What’s New

Starbucks Canada is making significant changes to its menu, with a 20% reduction in drink offerings by September 2025. The company says the move is part of a broader effort to simplify operations, improve quality, and focus on core coffee offerings.

Starting March 4, several “less popular” and complex-to-make drinks will be removed. According to Starbucks Canada spokesperson Leanna Rizzi, these changes will help reduce wait times and enhance overall consistency.

This menu shake-up comes as Starbucks announces 1,100 job cuts worldwide, though the company assures that retail store partners and locations in Canada will not be impacted.

If your go-to order is disappearing, don’t worry—there are still alternatives you can try.

  • Iced Matcha Lemonade → Try Green Tea Lemonade for a similar citrusy, grassy flavor.
  • Espresso Frappuccino & Caffè Vanilla Frappuccino → Swap for a Coffee Frappuccino, which can be customized with an espresso shot or flavored syrup.
  • White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino & Java Chip Frappuccino → Opt for a Mocha Frappuccino or Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino for that chocolatey taste and texture.
  • Frappuccino Crème Blended Beverages (Chai Crème, Caramel Ribbon Crème, Double Chocolaty Chip Crème, Chocolate Cookie Crumble Crème) → Try a Vanilla Bean Frappuccino or Strawberry Frappuccino with custom flavors.
  • White Hot Chocolate → Customize a Hot Chocolate with Mocha or White Chocolate Mocha sauce.
  • Royal English Breakfast Latte → The London Fog Latte offers a similar sweet, floral profile.
  • Honey Almond Flat White → Stick with a Flat White and customize it with your preferred dairy-free milk and sweetener.

While some favorites are disappearing, Starbucks Canada is introducing new drinks and food items in response to customer preferences. The cortado, launched in January, is one example of the brand’s focus on more balanced, coffee-forward beverages.

This spring, Starbucks will bring back Lavender drinks and introduce a new Iced Cherry Chai, alongside food options like the Spicy Falafel Pocket and Jalapeño Chicken Pocket.

With these changes, Starbucks says it aims to refine its menu while still offering customers a variety of innovative and classic choices.
