Shell to Switch from Air Miles to Scene+ in Ontario Starting May 2026

Ontario drivers will soon be earning Scene+ points instead of Air Miles at Shell stations, as the fuel retailer officially joins the popular loyalty program in 2026.

Shell Canada announced it will transition to the Scene+ rewards program, marking the end of its long-standing Air Miles partnership. The change will allow customers to earn and redeem Scene+ points on fuel purchases, car washes, and eligible convenience store items at Shell locations across the province.

The rollout will begin in Alberta on March 3, 2026, before expanding nationwide on May 26. Until then, customers can continue to earn and redeem Air Miles at Shell stations throughout Ontario and the rest of Canada.

Under the new program, Scene+ members will earn one point for every litre of fuel purchased, as well as one point for every dollar spent on car washes and qualifying convenience store items. Points can be redeemed directly at Shell, with 1,000 Scene+ points worth $10 off fuel, car washes, or eligible in-store purchases.

The partnership also includes Scotiabank and Tangerine, allowing cardholders to link their accounts to Shell’s loyalty system and receive instant savings at the pump in addition to earning points.

Scene+ is already widely used across Canada, with more than 15 million members earning rewards at a range of partners including grocery stores, restaurants, and entertainment venues. The addition of Shell expands the program’s reach into everyday driving expenses, giving motorists another way to turn fuel purchases into rewards.

Drivers who are not yet Scene+ members can sign up for free ahead of the launch, ensuring they’re ready to start earning points when the new program officially takes effect next spring.
