Bollywood legend Shah Rukh Khan has officially entered the billionaire club, with his net worth now estimated at $1.4 billion (₹1.03 lakh crore), according to the Hurun India Rich List 2025. The milestone cements the 59-year-old superstar’s status as one of the richest actors in the world, alongside global icons such as Rihanna, Tiger Woods, Taylor Swift, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Often hailed as Bollywood’s “King of Romance,” Khan has spent more than three decades ruling Indian cinema before evolving into a powerful entrepreneur. His wealth today is driven largely by his stakes in Red Chillies Entertainment, his successful film production company, and Knight Riders Sports, which owns the Indian Premier League team Kolkata Knight Riders. Beyond films, endorsements, and business ventures, Khan is also reported to have major real estate investments across the globe.
Hurun India founder Anas Rahman Junaid said Khan’s rise reflects India’s shifting economy. “As the Indian economy matures, sports, entertainment, and IP-driven businesses are emerging as serious engines of wealth creation — much like what happened in the U.S. with figures such as Michael Jordan, Oprah Winfrey, and Beyoncé.”
Among Bollywood figures on the rich list, Khan’s wealth outpaces all others. His longtime co-star Juhi Chawla and her family rank second with $880 million, while Hrithik Roshan comes in at $260 million. Director Karan Johar’s fortune is valued at around $200 million, while Amitabh Bachchan and family are estimated at $183 million. Last year, Johar sold half of Dharma Productions to billionaire Adar Poonawalla for $119 million.
India’s overall billionaire tally has now surpassed 350, with Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani continuing to lead the rankings. But Khan’s inclusion marks a cultural shift: a Bollywood actor standing shoulder-to-shoulder with industrialists and tycoons in shaping India’s wealth story.
