Brampton, ON — Shafqat Ali, Member of Parliament for Brampton Centre and President of the Treasury Board, hosted a well-attended open house ( Meet and Greet) at his constituency office in Brampton, drawing participation from over 100 residents, community leaders, and representatives of various social and seniors’ organizations.
The open house was formally inaugurated by Mr. Ali, who welcomed attendees and emphasized the importance of accessible, people-first governance. In his address, he highlighted the role of constituency offices as bridges between government and citizens, noting that meaningful engagement helps shape responsive policies and stronger communities. He reaffirmed his commitment to serving residents with transparency, inclusivity, and a focus on priorities such as affordability, community wellbeing, and support for seniors.
Several community and seniors’ organizations were present, reflecting Brampton’s diversity and strong civic spirit. Among them was Flower City Friends Club. Gian Paul, Chairperson of the Club, praised the initiative, stating that open houses like this foster trust and dialogue, and commended Mr. Ali for his consistent outreach and efforts to support seniors and community-based organizations.

During the event, the Annual Magazine of the Flower City Friends Club was formally presented to Mr. Ali. Acknowledging the publication, Mr. Ali applauded the magazine for showcasing the club’s activities, volunteerism, and positive impact on seniors’ lives, and encouraged continued community storytelling that highlights service, inclusion, and active aging.
The open house also provided a valuable networking platform, allowing participants to connect with one another, exchange ideas, and strengthen collaboration across community groups.
Concluding the event, Mr. Ali thanked all attendees, volunteers, and organizations for their participation and support.
