Sara Ali Khan recently discussed her unique style of greeting people with a namaste, expressing her irritation when she felt it was being copied by other actors in the industry. Despite the initial bother, she finds solace in her audience recognizing her signature style.
In a conversation with Rj Stutee on a recent episode of Aur Batao, Sara revealed her feelings about the imitation of her mannerisms, particularly the namaste gesture. “It used to bother me when I used to think that I was being copied. Like this whole namaste, it’s not like an act. I genuinely greet people like that and suddenly it became a template that every girl was doing,” she shared.
However, Sara has since found acceptance, noting that her audience can distinguish her authenticity. “This wearing Indian clothes at the airport and going with wet hair and all like it used to irritate me when other girls used to do it. But, I realized that my darkshaks (audience) know it’s me. It’s fine, now it doesn’t bother me anymore,” she explained.
Sara’s upcoming projects include “Ae Watan Mere Watan,” where she portrays Usha, a woman operating a clandestine radio channel during the British Raj. She will also star in Anurag Basu’s “Metro In Dino,” alongside Aditya Roy Kapur and Konkona Sen Sharma, set for release on September 13.
