On Wednesday, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh was released from Tihar Jail after spending six months in custody. However, Singh emphasized that it was not a time for celebration but a moment to continue the struggle. He conveyed two crucial messages to his party and supporters: first, that this was a period for ongoing efforts, not jubilation, and second, that the people’s vote would be their response to the incarceration of party leaders.
Upon his release, Singh made his first stop at the residence of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is currently also in Tihar. There, he conveyed his regards to Kejriwal’s wife Sunita before proceeding to the AAP office. Addressing a large crowd gathered there, Singh pledged to intensify the party’s fight against the BJP and ensure the release of his incarcerated colleagues.
Singh launched a scathing attack on the BJP leadership, questioning whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be treated differently under the law. He warned the BJP about the resilience of non-NDA ruled states and suggested that the same standards should apply to all, including the Prime Minister.
During his speech, Singh reaffirmed AAP’s commitment to continue working for the welfare of Delhi’s residents, emphasizing the party’s achievements in providing free water, healthcare, education, and other essential services. He also criticized the BJP for allegedly welcoming corrupt leaders into its fold and accused them of involvement in the excise policy scam.
Singh’s release marks a significant moment for AAP, with party leaders planning to organize a campaign schedule for him in the coming days.
