“Steady Eddy” Dominates Finals to Claim Top Title
Oakville, ON – Glen Abbey Golf Club proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of Ranjit Singh, affectionately known as Harry Singh or “Harry Bhaji,” who has been crowned the Glen Abbey Singles Match Play Champion following a series of thrilling bracket matches and a commanding performance in the finals.
This win marks an extraordinary third major victory in the same year for Ranjit Singh. In addition to being the Blue Flight Singles Champion and winning the Members/Members Trophy, his crowning achievement came as he lifted the overall Glen Abbey Singles Match Play Championship Trophy at the remarkable age of 72 . His performance stands as an inspiring example of consistency, passion, and competitive spirit across generations.
The tournament wrapped up with an enthusiastic message from Head Pro Cam, highlighting the exceptional performances in both brackets:
Net Singles – Blue Bracket Finals: Grant Osborn vs Ranjit Singh
“Harry continued his winning ways and takes down Grant. Great playing by all and great run Grant.”
Net Singles – Gold Bracket Finals: Craig Lindsay vs Adam “Tiki Hut” Szeminski
Adam Szeminski took down Craig “Twinkle Toes” Lindsay in a tight match. Adam has been on fire this year, keeping steady pressure throughout the game. Notably, Adam has dropped his handicap to a single digit this year — congratulations, Adam.
Finals – Ranjit Singh vs Adam Szeminski
“Well… Adam’s fire was extinguished in the finals. Ranjit ‘Steady Eddy’ Singh was just too much to handle. Ranjit put the pressure on early and never let go. Fairways, greens and a great short game overwhelmed Adam. Congratulations to both players for winning their respective brackets and congrats to Ranjit on winning the overall Singles title. Well done.”

Ranjit Singh’s tournament run was dominant from start to finish. In the Blue Bracket final, he set the tone early, sinking a 35-foot birdie putt on the opening hole to take the lead, eventually closing out the match with control and precision. In the overall championship final, his consistent fairway drives, precise iron play, and sharp short game proved too strong for his opponent. Ranjit built pressure early and never let go, earning him both the Blue Bracket title and the overall Glen Abbey Singles Match Play Championship.
Reflecting on his victory, Ranjit Singh shared:
“This win means a lot to me. Glen Abbey has been like a second home for years, and to capture the overall Singles Match Play Championship here is truly special. I want to thank the club, the staff, my fellow competitors, and everyone who came out to support. It was a great tournament, and I’m honoured to have my name added to this list of champions.”
Lucky Sandle, a long-time friend and community leader, applauded the achievement:
“This is a proud moment not just for Harry but for our entire community. Seeing one of our own shine on such a big stage inspires others to pick up the game, get involved, and build the spirit of togetherness that golf brings.”
Avtar Brar, Founder of the Indo Canadian Golf Association (ICGA), added:
“Harry’s victory is a shining example of the growing impact Indo-Canadian golfers are making in the sport. His discipline, focus, and sportsmanship reflect exactly what ICGA stands for. This win will motivate many upcoming golfers in our community to strive for excellence both on and off the course.”
Gian Paul, a long-time ClubLink member and community leader, also extended his warm congratulations:
“I’ve had the privilege of watching Harry’s journey over the years, and this win is a well-deserved milestone. His dedication to the game and his calm, consistent approach make him a true ambassador for our community in the sport. Congratulations, Harry — you’ve made us all proud.”
The final match was played in front of an enthusiastic crowd of members, friends, and fellow golfers, all of whom applauded Ranjit’s composed, strategic play. His performance has become a source of pride not only for Glen Abbey Golf Club but also for the broader Indo-Canadian golf community.
