A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded in Richmond Hill on Wednesday afternoon when an SUV slammed into a daycare, killing an 18-month-old boy and injuring six other children, one critically. York Regional Police confirmed that three staff members were also hurt in the crash, which happened during afternoon pickup time.
The driver, a man in his 70s, was arrested at the scene. Police say the crash does not appear to have been intentional, but the investigation is ongoing to determine what caused the vehicle to plow through a window of the centre.
