Princess Kate made a dazzling return to Westminster Abbey today, attending her first Commonwealth Day service in two years after missing last year’s event due to her cancer treatment.
The Prince and Princess of Wales joined King Charles, Queen Camilla, and other senior royals for the annual service, marking a strong display of unity within the Royal Family. King Charles, who also underwent cancer treatment in 2024, was absent from last year’s service but made a return this year.
Dressed in a vibrant red Catherine Walker dress with a matching Gina Foster hat, Kate Middleton looked elegant as she stepped into the Abbey. She wore her long brown hair down, accessorizing with pearls—a timeless royal touch. Coincidentally, her bold red outfit was similar in hue to that of the deputy Labour leader, who also opted for a statement look.
Meanwhile, Queen Camilla chose a softer approach, wearing a pale pink wool crepe and satin coat dress by Fiona Clare, paired with a beret hat by Philip Treacy.
A special booklet distributed at the service included King Charles’ annual address, in which he emphasized the need to restore the “disrupted harmony of our entire planet”, calling it the most “important task facing humanity.”
The Commonwealth Day service is a significant moment in the royal calendar, celebrating the unity of nations under the Commonwealth. With Kate and King Charles returning to public duties, this year’s event carries an added layer of poignancy and resilience for the Royal Family.
