Police Seek Public’s Help to Locate Federal Offender Wanted on Canada-Wide Warrant

A federal offender wanted on a Canada-wide warrant may be in southern Ontario, and police are urging the public to come forward with any information that could help track him down.

The Ontario Provincial Police say the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad is searching for 29-year-old Evan Haney, who is being sought for breaching the conditions of his statutory release. Investigators believe he could be moving through several communities across the region.

Haney is described as an Indigenous man, five feet eleven inches tall and weighing approximately 195 pounds, with brown hair and hazel-green eyes. He is known to wear thick-rimmed glasses secured with a green-blue strap. Police say he has multiple distinctive tattoos, including “S 14” on the centre of his neck, a Toronto Maple Leafs logo on the left side of his neck, and a Toronto Raptors logo on the right. The words “self made” appear across the knuckles of both hands, “MOA” is tattooed on his left hand, “Mom 1968–2008” on his inner right forearm, and “DEXTER” on his left forearm.

He is known to frequent areas in Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge, and Milton, and also has connections in Newfoundland. Haney is currently serving a sentence of two years and three months for offences that include break and enter, theft under $5,000, disguise with intent, assault with a weapon, fraud under $5,000, and failing to comply with an order.

Anyone who may have information about his whereabouts is urged to contact the Provincial R.O.P.E. Squad at 416-808-5900 or toll-free at 1-866-870-7673 (ROPE). Tips may also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), or by calling 911 if the individual is spotted.
