MISSISSAUGA — A chaotic scene unfolded Friday evening inside the Walmart on Argentia Road after someone discharged pepper spray, leaving both customers and staff with minor injuries.
Peel Regional Police confirmed the incident happened shortly after 7 p.m. Shoppers described burning eyes and coughing as the chemical spread through the store. One customer told INsauga.com they walked in while the air was still filled with spray and immediately felt its effects.
According to reports shared online, staff members quickly tried to manage the situation and even captured video of the individual believed to be responsible as they exited the store.
Police said several people were treated for minor injuries, but no arrests have been made. As of Sunday, the investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are asking for information that could help identify the suspect.
The unsettling attack has raised concerns among residents about safety in public spaces, especially busy retail locations where families shop.
