People Against Littering (P.A.L.) returned to a familiar neighborhood for another successful cleanup initiative. The area, last cleaned by P.A.L. in 2021 at the request of Peel Memorial Police, had fallen back into disarray. This year’s effort was smaller but no less impactful, as five dedicated members of P.A.L. tackled the littered space.
In 2021, over 25 volunteers, including members of Brampton Prison Ministries, braved the cold and rain to join forces with then-Councillor Jeff Bowman in a major cleanup effort. The event was a massive success, with the area transformed from a neglected mess into a clean and safe environment.
This time, due to a last-minute call to action, the group was smaller, and current area Councillor Dennis Keenan was unable to attend. Despite this, Keenan, who has been a strong supporter of P.A.L.’s efforts, expressed his appreciation for the group’s work.

P.A.L. President Bill Godfrey commended the team’s dedication despite the smaller turnout. The volunteers who participated in this cleanup were Wilma Colekessian, Sandy Brosbell, Steph C, Hank Bt, and Sasan Sayadi, each of whom brought determination and hard work to the table.

This latest cleanup effort is a continuation of P.A.L.’s ongoing commitment to maintaining safe, clean spaces in Brampton, and they look forward to involving even more community members in future projects.
