Peel Regional Police have charged a third individual in connection with a series of shootings and an extortion case that targeted homes in Brampton earlier this summer.
On July 10 and 11, 2025, police responded to reports of shots fired at residences in the Rolling Acres Drive area of Brampton. No injuries were reported. Investigators identified a black Chrysler 300 as the suspect vehicle, which was later recovered in Winnipeg on July 13.
Arrests and Charges
- July 27 – Husandeep Singh, 20, of Mississauga, was charged with discharge of a firearm with intent and extortion.
- August 26 – Police travelled to Winnipeg and arrested Gurpreet Singh, 23, of no fixed address, on a Canada-wide warrant. He was charged with two counts of discharge of a firearm with intent and extortion.
- September 12 – Investigators, with the assistance of Surrey Police, arrested Gurdeep Shergill, 26, of Delta, British Columbia, on a Canada-wide warrant. Shergill is charged with two counts of discharge of a firearm with intent and extortion.
All three accused are being held pending bail hearings and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
