Peel Police Bust Sophisticated Theft Crew Targeting LCBO Stores

Detectives from the 21 Criminal Investigation Bureau have nabbed five suspects tied to a slick, organized theft syndicate hitting Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) outlets hard.

From August 2024 to February 2025, the crew ransacked 50 LCBO stores across multiple regions. Their MO? Teams would swoop in, some distracting staff or standing lookout, while others slipped through restricted entries to swipe hefty hauls of booze. So far, they’ve made off with $237,738.95 in goods.

The sting netted five arrests, each slapped with Theft Over $5,000 charges, and three facing extra counts:

  • Anuj Kumar, 25, no fixed address
  • Simarpeet Singh, 29, no fixed address
  • Sharndeep Singh, 25, no fixed address – also charged with Breach of Release Order
  • Simranjeet Singh, 24, no fixed address – also charged with Break and Enter with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence
  • Prabhpreet Singh, 29, from Caledon – also charged with Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence

All five were hauled before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton for bail hearings.

Police are still hunting two more suspects, both with no fixed address, wanted for Theft Over $5,000 and Break and Enter with Intent:

  • Jagshir Singh, 28
  • Punit Sehjra, 25

Deputy Chief Marc Andrews praised the operation: “Our Criminal Investigation Bureau has done stellar work smashing this relentless crime ring. These arrests shout loud and clear: if you prey on our communities, we’ll track you down and make you answer for it. We’re not letting up on keeping our neighborhoods safe.”

The probe’s still active, with more charges expected to drop.
