Over 6,000 Land Rover Vehicles Recalled in Canada Due to Risk of Doors Randomly Opening While Driving

Transport Canada has issued a recall for more than 6,000 Land Rover vehicles due to a critical safety issue that may cause doors to open unexpectedly while driving. The recall affects 2013, 2014, and 2015 Land Rover Range Rover models, as well as 2014 and 2015 Land Rover Range Rover Sport vehicles.

According to the recall notice, the affected vehicles may have doors that fail to latch properly when closed, increasing the risk of injury or a crash if a door opens suddenly during operation. “A door that opens while driving could create a serious safety hazard,” Transport Canada warned.

Land Rover will notify owners of the recalled vehicles by mail and instruct them to bring their vehicles to a dealership for a software update to the unilatch keyless vehicle system. Owners are urged to act promptly to address the issue and ensure their safety on the road.

The recall highlights the importance of addressing potential safety defects in vehicles to prevent accidents and injuries. Transport Canada advises affected vehicle owners to contact their local Land Rover dealership for further information or to schedule the necessary repairs.
