Oshawa Arrest Turns Violent: Man Tries to Grab Officer’s Gun During Parole Raid

What started as a routine parole check in south Oshawa quickly escalated into a violent confrontation that left two men facing serious charges, including gun, drug, and assault offences.

Durham Police say officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit and the Provincial Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Unit arrived at a home near Oxford Street and Dwight Avenue on October 30 to arrest Adrian Green, 37, for violating parole conditions. Green was taken into custody without incident.

However, a second man at the residence allegedly tried to flee and violently resisted arrest, attempting to grab an officer’s firearm during the struggle. Once subdued, police discovered a loaded gun, ammunition, and drugs in his backpack.

Green, who already faced assault, uttering threats, and theft charges, was returned to custody for his parole violations.

The second suspect, Lukas James Semple, 29, of Oshawa, is charged with attempting to disarm a peace officer, resisting and assaulting police, possession of a prohibited weapon, careless storage of a firearm, and drug trafficking offences involving fentanyl and cocaine. He remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
