Ontario Party Leaders Set for High-Stakes Televised Debate in Toronto

With just 10 days remaining in Ontario’s election campaign, the leaders of the province’s main political parties will go head-to-head tonight in a televised debate, marking a critical moment in the race.

Progressive Conservative Leader Doug Ford, NDP Leader Marit Stiles, Liberal Leader Bonnie Crombie, and Green Party Leader Mike Schreiner will take the stage in Toronto for the debate, hosted by CBC in collaboration with several provincial broadcasters. The event is set to begin at 6:30 p.m.

The debate follows last week’s northern Ontario forum, where candidates sparred over key regional concerns, including road safety, infrastructure, and the worsening addictions crisis. During that debate, Stiles, Crombie, and Schreiner took aim at Ford over his unmet pledge to build 1.5 million homes, a key promise of his government’s housing plan.

Tonight’s debate is expected to be a heated exchange as the candidates seek to sway undecided voters and solidify their positions before Ontarians head to the polls.
