Newcomers to Brampton are being offered a warm welcome through special guided bus tours hosted by Brampton Library in partnership with Brampton Transit and the City’s Recreation department, with sponsorship from Toronto Pearson. The tours, taking place on Dec. 4 and Dec. 9 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., will help recent arrivals get familiar with key attractions and services across the city.
Each tour begins and ends at the Springdale Branch of Brampton Library on Bramalea Road and includes visits to the Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives as well as Century Gardens Recreation Centre. On Dec. 4, participants will tour a local fire station, while the Dec. 9 tour will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the Rose Theatre in downtown Brampton.
The bus will also pass major city landmarks such as Brampton City Hall, the Innovation District, Bramalea City Centre, Brampton GO station, police stations, Chinguacousy Park Ski Chalet, Gage Park, local hospitals, and major sports facilities — giving newcomers a broad orientation to their new community.
Eligible participants are those who moved to Brampton after Jan. 1, 2023. Registration is required, and each family member or group participant must sign up individually. Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged. Newcomers can reserve their spot by calling 905-793-4636 or visiting the library’s online events calendar.
