Modi Government Prohibits JKLF (Yasin Malik Faction) and JK Peoples Freedom League Over Terror Ties

In a significant move, the Modi government has extended the ban on the ‘Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (Mohd. Yasin Malik faction)’ as an ‘Unlawful Association’ for another five years, announced Union Home Minister Amit Shah on ‘X’. The ban also includes the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League, along with four factions of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, for their roles in fostering terrorism and separatism in the Union territory.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized that individuals or groups posing a threat to the security, sovereignty, and integrity of the nation will face severe legal consequences. The decision reflects the government’s commitment to curbing terrorism and safeguarding national interests.

The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League, declared an unlawful organization for five years, has been accused of endangering India’s integrity by promoting and supporting the secession of Jammu and Kashmir through terrorist activities.

Amit Shah reiterated the government’s unwavering stance against terrorism, affirming that it will continue to take decisive action against individuals and organizations involved in such activities.
