Mississauga is getting another Chick-fil-A restaurant, marking the second location in the city for the popular U.S. chain famed for its chicken sandwiches.
A spokesperson for Chick-fil-A confirmed plans to open the new eatery at 5950 Mavis Rd., located within Heartland Town Centre. The new restaurant follows the opening of Mississauga’s first Chick-fil-A at Square One Shopping Centre, which drew large crowds upon its debut in August 2023.
“While still early in the process, we are pleased to share Chick-fil-A is actively pursuing a new location at 5950 Mavis Road in Mississauga,” the spokesperson informed INsauga.com via email.
City of Mississauga records show that a building permit has been issued for a 473-square-metre restaurant, and construction has already begun near the existing Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, as observed in recent posts on Reddit.
Since opening its first Canadian location in downtown Toronto in September 2019, Chick-fil-A has continued to expand steadily across Ontario, with two additional locations opening earlier this year.
According to the company’s website, Chick-fil-A restaurants are typically operated by individual owner-operators who actively manage their locations, emphasizing local entrepreneurship and community involvement.
